Tue 01 Mar The Hague, International Court of Justice 7:00 PM Performance with the Tunesian pianist and composer Mohamed-Ali-Kamoun and nây-player Nabil Abdelmoulah. In 2008 he wrote 'Tûran Blues' for Marcels' Bluesproject and they will perform this composition together on a meeting, organised by the Embassy of Tunisia in theHague. This meeting will take place on the occasion of the Nobel Peace Prize 2015 that was awarded last December to four Tunisian organisations. In the so called 'National Dialogue Quartet' these organisations con tributed to the new democracy that evolved during the Jasmin Revolution, by which president Ben Ali was expelled. This revolution gave the impetus to the Arab Spring.

Fri 20 May Amsterdam, Central Library OBA, OBA Theatre 8:00 PM-9:30 PM Two intermezzi during an interview with writer and filmmaker Claude Lanzmann (Gideon Klein - Sonata for piano / Dick Kattenburg - Blues and Two Waltzes)30 years ago he made Shoah, the utimate movie about the holocaust: the legendary, now 91 years old filmmaker and author Claude Lanzmann. He will be interviewed by Pierre-Pascal Bruneau of the French bookshop 'Le Temps Retrouvé' in Amsterdam.Lanzmann's best known work is the documentary film Shoah from 1985, lasting nine and a half hours: a history of the holocaust in the form of interviews with victims, witnesses and other people involved. Many consider this documentary as the most important one on this subject. In the framework of 'Les rencontres littéraires de l'Institut Français des Pays-Bas' Claude Lanzmann will talk to Pierre-Pascal Bruneau. They will discuss the influence of his youth and his role in the resistance movement on his life, the issues of freedom and justice and his relations with Jean-Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir. In the final part of their conversation they will discuss how he experienced the 12 years of working on 'Shoah'. Organisation by OBA, Le Temps Retrouvé and the French Institute Afterwards Claude Lanzmann will sign his books. Reservation is recommended strongly
