For the dutch National Poetry Week 2014 Schippers has written a new collection of poems.The music in this program is not meant as an illustration of the text but expresses a way of thinking, observing and working in which traditional boundaries between styles are being broken down. Dutch composer Otto Ketting mixed musical genres just as easily as Schippers does with literary styles. Part of the 840 repeats will sound which Erik Satie wants the pianist to play in his 'Vexations'. Thanks to Schippers open mind and broad taste we will also hear music by Anton Webern (deconstruction in music just as Schippers likes to deconstruct language), Robert Nasveld (a deconstructed blues) and Arnold Schoenberg. Jan Brokken will read parts from his book 'de Vergelding' (the Revenge, 2013). In October 1944 a German soldier was killed in Brokkens' hometown Rhoon probably as a result of sabotage. In retaliation the nazi's executed seven arbitrary inhabitants of Rhoon. The fact of the matter has never been researched so thouroughly as in this book. Sat 11 Apr Hierden (near Harderwijk), Parkhotel Hierden 4:00 PM-5:00 PM Performance during a 'Stamhotel'weekend (see www.stamhotel.nl)The composition 'Portret van Hedwig' (Portrait of Hedwig) by Jurriaan Andriessen (1951-1991) is notated as a socalled "doublefocusdrawing". At first sight one sees a woman's face. Jurriaan Andriessen has drawn a portrait of his partner Hedwig. However, looking closer it turns out that the portrait is built up from thousands of music notes. These notes together form 54 compositions, especially written by Andriessen for this portrait. Jurriaan Andriessens' widow, Hedwig de Beer, will give a lecture about 'Portret van Hedwig'. As an illustration Marcel made a selection from the 54 movements of this special composition.

Mon 04 May Amsterdam, Muziektheater (Operahouse, foyer) 9:00 PM performance with Eleonore Pameijer (flute) in a program after the commemoration of World War II on Dam Square in Amsterdam. Eleonore and Marcelm will play the Sonata for flute and piano by Leo Smit, his last work, finished in 1943. Barbara Kozelj and Katrien Baerts will sing the songcycle 'La Mort' from 1938, accompanied by pianist Ernst Munneke, and songs by Francis Poulenc, one of the composers who inspired Leo Smit in Paris.
